Description
Located in a corner lot of a residential area in Bogor - Indonesia, this house accommodates a family of three generations: The owner himself, his parents, and his children. For this reason, the client requested for each bedroom to have its own bathroom. With the room requirements in mind, the architect took up the challenge of a corner lot: two facades and two site boundaries. The solution was an L-shaped house that allow sunlight and air circulation for every room in the house. The upside of a corner lot is that it offers plenty of courtyard space for the children to play, while window openings on both side of the building allow for interactions between interior and exterior. Grey sandblasted walls sets up a cool and neutral background for the trees and greenery. Exposed bricks on one side of the building gives the impression of a house with two building mass. Mesh wire fencing allows ivy plants to climb and form a ‘living’ green fence.
