Description
In 2016, the client reached out to us to design their new POLYPROPYLENE WOVEN BAG FACTORY on a 5.5-ACRE site located at the BORDER OF Sragen and Solo. They sought a design that would stand out from the typical, uninspired factory aesthetic, aiming instead for a facility that showcased their ambition to become an industry leader. Our design brief included various facilities: a main gate and receiving area at the front, a support area featuring employee amenities such as a parking structure and a canteen for 150 people, and a main office for 150 employees situated on the west side of the property, overlooking the rice fields. We developed a concept inspired by the LINEAR MOTION OF POLYPROPYLENE RIBBON BEING WOVEN INTO A BAG, INCORPORATING FOLDING ARCHITECTURE AND A FRACTAL FAÇADE to reflect this idea. The façade materials—concrete, glass, and aluminum composite panels—were chosen to evoke MODERNITY AND TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT, a theme consistently applied throughout the campus, symbolizing the client’s ambition and their passion for technology. This emphasis on linearity was also evident in the main office’s layout. Upon entering through the central lobby, the building splits into two wings. The left wing houses the executive offices and meeting rooms, while the right wing accommodates staff offices and the quality control department. Completed in 2019, the project has contributed to the client’s success, helping them establish a dominant position in the polypropylene woven bag industry, with exports expanding internationally.
